Tintin in 3D

Here I am back with another Review.....This time its on the Steven Spielberg film "The Adventures of Tintin -The Secret of the Unicorn" in 3D.

So whats so special here.Well lot many things are special here.

Personally Tintin has been one my childhood heroes and it brought in those nostalgic memories in me , where as a school kid I had exchanged books with friends (costly in those days Rs 80 I believe) to read all the stories of this adventure series created by Herge. I had almost read all is what I think.

Secondly this probably one of the films which had used motion capture where the real human movements have been imposed on animated objects and the characters really reminded me of those caricatures that I had seen as a kid. The resemblance of all the characters were immaculate and astonishing.

Third no doubt its for the creator - Spielberg and that too in 3D.

Having said the reasons which drove me to the theater, the experience in the theater was no less fascinating. Fame cinemas - one of the recent entrants to the Multiplex cinema group in chennai, have given the residents of Ashok Nagar, Kodambakkam, Valasaravakam till Porur a new realm of entertainment away from Mount road and rest of the other distant multiplexes.

Fame theatre is not a common man's destination and falls into the category of Premium theaters. The services provided will no doubt at least justify the cost and the quality of entertainment provided right from the ambiance to the infrastructure. The parking is good and so are the sound and picture quality. The film looked really good and its CG and the 3D effects further enhanced the film. The suspense and the screenplay from the director never allowed the movie to sag and was well received by everyone, especially the kids.

Recommend it for all and a definite must if you are a Tintin fan. Kids would definitely love it.
In all a satisfying experience.

Winning your boss

As I was observing on the Process of Appraisals that were going on in my new Organisation, it brought about the subjectivity that is present in the system. The only way to come out in flying colors is, be a pet to your Boss and reap rich dividends. Though the companies claim about the various thought process that has been put forward in designing the appraisal system, it all boils down to the previous line you just read. I know a guy who always came out with the best score possible during the appraisal not because he did a great job but for his attitude to tasks given by his Boss. I do not claim that he is a person who just thrives because of the "pet" tag , though he does pretty decent job. But if you consider his peers who do the same "decent" job, they somehow end up lower than him. WHY ? Again it is how he presents himself to the boss...Watch below some of his action. Never disputes the idea told by the Boss. Can always spot some think good in the Worst of ...

Ghasi - Hollywood Class

Film Ghassi was another film which really is a class apart from the run-of-a-mill movies. The entire film is shot within a Submarine and the plot is the Indo-Pak war under water in 1971. Viewer watch with bated breath as the story takes you through one sequence of attack after another. Its based on real incidents with how the Indian submarine inspite of losing its captain ,still fought valiantly. This is once in a blue moon kind of movie and matches the class of Hollywood mo vies frame by frame. Score: 4.25/5...extra credit for just the plot and the storyline.
