Selfie Pulla.....

Today, my long felt need of having to get a selfie out was done.

You may ask what's so great about a selfie. Well, the need was to take a good selfie (not actually coined as a selfie at that time, but was a just a snap) of me and my parents together. This job had been entrusted to many in the past and the result was not satisfactory. I need to get it done myself and also I need to be there in the picture as well. How to achieve it ? This was an unresolved need from the past, in fact for several years as my parents never wished to go to a photo studio for this purpose.

As all problems will have a solution and it is only a matter of time until one finds it. This problem of mine, might have been in someone else mind as well and thus was the selfie stick born. Rather a simple solution of lending an extended hand to cover the frame and shoot the snap. Very simple solution to a simple problem.

With the solution found its only the execution that was remaining. So with my goal of taking a selfie in mind was searching for the specifications for a good selfie stick. Just to my astonishment the price range was really huge and it was hard to understand , resulting in a dilemma as to what should I look out for. So this delayed my purchase.

Then came a day in Office when our group decided to celebrate an event and everyone will be given a gift of his/her choice from a list of four options. I am generally not interested in these events and would give it a slip as I have lost interest in them long back. But here, since they were planning to give a gift I thought of having a look and clicked the link which was in the email containing the message.

Yes, you guessed it right. One of the  four choices was a selfie stick, the ever evasive selfie stick. Without any further ado, looked at the specification. When they do a corporate event  the quality will never be compromised and in a jiffy clicked it.  Now that it has been ordered, only thing left was to wait for the distribution.

The day came, the event happened and unfortunately it happened in another centre in the city. I was thinking if I should take the pain of travelling to the next district for this. There was finally a solace that ,the gift would be distributed next week in my centre as well....Well the wait continued.

Finally the moment arrived when I got my hand on to this much coveted selfie stick and one my lunch mate looked at it and made a remark indicating the quality was not as expected. Well for me, I need it to take just few snaps and complete my mission which was overdue.

Nothing comes so easy as many would say, I opened the box ,tried to understand how it works, with my anxiety to set it quickly peeking, messed it up and there was a minor damage done. Now, this will not work until it is mended which would mean further delay. So near yet so far.

Now the repair is done, and we are all set on this day to excute it.  Click...Click...Click..and the results were pretty good. Used the selfie stick to my fullest satisfaction and clicked all through, capturing all moments.....

Its time to relax after the long wait, as I write this post in my blog and go ahead with the number "Selfie pulla....in my Ipod.

Winning your boss

As I was observing on the Process of Appraisals that were going on in my new Organisation, it brought about the subjectivity that is present in the system. The only way to come out in flying colors is, be a pet to your Boss and reap rich dividends. Though the companies claim about the various thought process that has been put forward in designing the appraisal system, it all boils down to the previous line you just read. I know a guy who always came out with the best score possible during the appraisal not because he did a great job but for his attitude to tasks given by his Boss. I do not claim that he is a person who just thrives because of the "pet" tag , though he does pretty decent job. But if you consider his peers who do the same "decent" job, they somehow end up lower than him. WHY ? Again it is how he presents himself to the boss...Watch below some of his action. Never disputes the idea told by the Boss. Can always spot some think good in the Worst of ...

33% reservation

33% reservation for women - It is being said as a breakthrough in the history of Indian parliement for having this passed in Rajya sabha, which had the blessing of Sonia Gandhi(the holder of the remote control of Indian goverment) Some want a reservation within this reservation for Muslims and (so called)lower caste women as they feel upper caste women would crush lower caste women. My question is Will these politicians ever change ? A party can decide which women candidate  can contest and if these members are so concerned about the particular sect , let them field all the 33% with their favourites!! who on earth is stopping them. Second(Actually this is should be first) question is does each party have some many ABLE(note this is bold) women candidates to field. I am not sure if this is really necessary. My opinion is India should be reservation free and the competant should make it for any post -any gender or caste...Way to go.

Australia - Racist ?

Now Australia is in the News for all wrong Reasons. Guess what ! the most peaceful country in the world has now been branded as a Racist Country by the Asians living over there. But something tells me from the various inputs received ,Australia is not all to blame for. Australia has education as the third biggest source of income and is really building its base on the foreign students who fly down from across the world mainly from Asia . Having said that can they really afford to be Racist is the question that comes to mind. Australians are no doubt a mixed group of people with various levels of education and majority of them are really assertive (unlike Indians ) no matter what their level of education is. This being the case how do our Desi guys conduct themselves in a foreign land is also a thing to ponder. For instance, Desi's form large groups on streets and keep talking loudly ,blocking the path and Australians find this really awkward and unlike Indians being assertive t...
